In 2011, Jean-Jacques Milteau and Xavier Simonin adapted Blaise Cendrars' L'Or, a major literary work describing a European's odyssey to the emerging United States of the 19th century. A universal story that finds its natural extension in Steinbeck, evoking the 20th century and the great internal migration from the Dust Bowl to California.
Ecological disaster, economic crisis, migration, social violence ... The Grapes of Wrath might seem sadly topical if John Steinbeck's book were not above all a timeless masterpiece rich in a humanity that is more fragile than ever.
With the help of exceptional musicians and singers, the co-authors have imagined and written a musical and literary adaptation of this essential work of American literature and history.
